Green Eyed Monster Smoothie Recipe

I like to call this the Green Eyed Monster smoothie recipe because when you start drinking it you'll encounter the green eyed monster. People will begin to wonder why your skin looks clearer and you have more energy (bye-bye breakfast donut sugar crashes). Call me a hippie, but I really think there's a little touch of healing in green drinks...

Green Eyed Monster Smoothie Recipe
Serves one

- 1/2 very ripe banana
- one small apple, sliced
- 6 ounces Naked Juice Green Machine, more if you like your smoothies even sweeter
- 2 heaping handfuls of spinach

Blend well, enjoy!

What are your favorite smoothie recipes?

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I figured I mention my favorite green smoothie on here so often I better share the recipe. I love Naked Juice Green Machine...it's so sweet and tasty! You can buy it in a bulk size at Target or Whole Foods. :)

Green smoothies really are the best... especially now that the weather is getting nicer :)

Tessa- I couldn't agree more! It was in the 80s and sunny here today and I had two green smoothies...it was just the perfect thing on a day like today :)

My favorite is mango avocado smoothie. Sounds strange but it is so yummy! I use 1/2 an avocado, frozen mango (about 1/2-1 cup), non-fat plain yogurt (about 1/4 cup), mango juice, and then a handful of spinach and two-three ice cubes. Its amazing! My other favorite is a tablespoon of peanut butter, a scoop of chocolate protein powder, 1/2-1 frozen banana, and a few chocolate chips, with a bit of milk or chocolate soy milk if I want it to have more chocolate flavor.

Green drinks also acts as a gentle detox to the system, so when you start taking one, use under 1 teaspoon per serving! Work up the minerals gradually.
