The Week in Pictures: High Chair, Pinterest, and a Mustard Heart

Testing out Caroline's brand new high chair. I'd say she's a fan.
And now that she can join me in the kitchen she's earned the title of mommy's little sous chef. We made sweet potato and black bean burritos together.

Teaching Caroline how to use Pinterest on the ipad while Daddy is at work. We had a long discussion about what sort of new haircut mommy should get based on Pinterest inspiration. Okay, maybe I did most of the talking. But she did a lot of cooing. I take it she liked the hair cut photos I pinned

Can you tell the high chair seems like the only time I have a free hand to snap photos?
Caroline is so tiny in her high chair she uses the part that is suppose to fit between baby's legs as a foot rest.
Pretty darn cute.

Saturday morning around 5AM I got into an argument with Mike about something. Who even knows what it was about. I was a walking zombie after being up every hour with C Friday night. An egg sandwich by Mike with mustard in the shape of a heart always makes amends...

Reading books with Daddy.

 Saturday morning snuggles.

Saturday we went out to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Gramps' birthday. C enjoyed learning animal noises with Grandma.
It was her first restaurant experience and she did well.
I like the wide variety of menu options at The Cheesecake Factory.

C napped in the Ergo through almost all of small group Sunday night so she stayed up a little later with us. Mike gave her a spoon to occupy herself as she sat with us for dinner. About 5 seconds after I snapped this photo she began to wildly flail the spoon about barely missing her noggin. I promptly confiscated the now dangerous piece of flatware. Solids may be interesting.

Assisting Daddy in answering work e-mails.
Or hampering his productivity. Depends on which way you look at it.

Way Family (Holiday) Mini Session

Last November I photographed mini-sessions for family Christmas cards. I never got to photograph the rest of the mini-sessions I had booked because our little girl decided to surprise us one month early. But I did get to enjoy a fun afternoon in Duke Gardens with the Way family. And seriously, they are such a beautiful family they look like they're straight from a clothes catalog!

Their 3 children were so much fun to photograph, they were silly, adventurous, and kept us laughing!

This is one of my favorites, just a sweet sibling moment!

Seriously, Sharon- your kids are gorgeous! (of course they would be with you as their mom!)

I had the best time editing these photos. And finally getting around to blogging looking back at these photos gets me so excited to start taking photos again (I've been on a maternity leave not doing any photography for 3 months). I think I'll get back in the game with spring mini-sessions, so check out the FB page for more!

Caroline at 3 Months

Caroline, you are 3 months old today!

You love...

...snuggling up and sleeping next to mommy
... riding in the car (as long as we don't come to a stop light...then it's all tears)

...looking at any type of light

...your play mat, you are in LOVE with your play mat, more than worth the $16 I spent on it at the kids' consignment store

...being read to and looking at the pictures in your favorite board books

with mommy's blogging friend, Aileen

...smiling when you wake up in the morning or from a good nap
...and being outside

3 months stats:

9 pounds 5 ounces

clothes: 0-3 month, except for a couple newborn sleeping gowns

diapers: you've grown into BumGenius cloth diapers, but when you wear disposable it's a size 1 diaper

Sleep: you're very random with your sleep schedule. Sometimes you wake up your usual twice a night for eats, sometimes more, and on a few glorious (but rare) occasions you've gone as long as 7 hours.

with Gramps

Books: we just added new books to your collection,The Runaway Bunny and On The Night You Were Born and you are already listening intently to both when mommy reads them to you.

You bring us so much joy!

Caroline's Aunt Chelsea

Chelsea is my best girl friend. We've known each other since...well... about as far back as I can remember. We went to school together growing up but never really became close till she was living and studying in Europe. Go figure right, you become closer friends once you're miles and miles apart, right?

She's been a big part of Caroline's life even before Caroline was born. She threw me the sweetest southern baby shower and has prayed for me and Caroline throughout the ups and downs of pregnancy and the ups and downs of being a new mom. She was especially there for me during my medical complications with breastfeeding- praying for me, encouraging me, bringing me meals (we both have the same favorite salad at Panera!), and bringing a bag of necessities to us at the hospital. She's one of those friends I can always count on, and I'm so thankful Caroline has Chelsea in her life.

Chelsea and I are both complete health nuts, which makes agreeing on snacks (Luna Bars) and lunch spots (Whole Foods) easy.

Mike was traveling this week for work and Chelsea offered to stay with me and Caroline. It sure was nice to have a little chat with her during the midnight feeding. And Caroline slept for 5 hours straight for me after that! It must have been Aunt Chelsea magic in the air that night!

Oh, and another thing I love about Caroline's Aunt Chelsea, she always has her camera with her to snap Caroline photos. Sometimes I'm so busy with C that I forget to take photos or just have my hands to full (literally!) to pull out the camera. But Chelsea takes almost weekly photos of Caroline and it's a wonderful way for me to see how C has already grown!

My Funny Girl

"We come bearing gifts for a tired mommy."

"One too many."

"Who that?"

Thanks for giving me laughs and smiles everyday, baby girl.
