Easter 2014

Here's a little look at our Easter. I'm excited Caroline is beginning to get to the age where she can start enjoying some simple holiday activities. This year her favorites were clapping to the music at church and realizing Easter eggs sometimes contain snacks. It was a fun family holiday watching her make new discoveries and enjoying holiday activities.

Our day started off with me driving my sweet hubby a little crazy insisting on getting a family photo in our coordinating Easter outfits before church, which meant I had to set up my tripod. One photo of us all looking at the camera with no tears: worth it.

After church and lunch and nap time (which was a fight that day) we headed to see Caroline's best friend. They haven't seen each other in weeks because Ashley just went back to work so they haven't been around during the day to hang out with us, we miss them!

The girls were so excited to see each other...

...maybe a little too excited, we had to break up the hug/wrestle about 30 seconds later.

We did a toddler Easter egg hunt with the girls. Translation: we pointed out and handed them eggs laying obviously in the grass and opened them up to show the girls their were treats inside. They caught on. Caroline's reaction when she realized raisins (one of her favorite snacks) were inside the eggs:

After the raisin discovery she could have egg hunted for hours.  Caroline hates candy and chocolate. I'm going to hang onto that for as long as it lasts because it makes giving her healthy snacks to eat so easy.

It was such a fun Easter afternoon with friends. Ashley and I talked and ate (and I really ate...I figured the steep weight gain goal my midwife has given me merited an extra slice or two of  the delicious chocolate pie Ashley made.) The girls enjoyed wagon rides and general toddler craziness. I've know set my mind on getting Caroline a wagon too so I've been searching Craigslist to snag a good deal. I think this time next summer it'll come in even more handy with two tots!

Caroline really enjoyed trying on Olive's new hat...

And we finished out afternoon with stickers thanks to Ashley's smart planning. They were a hit. Stickers are a big deal in our house. And all over everything these days.
